From Hardware BBQ:

The Noctua NH-U9S makes a very impressive performance. A 92mm CPU cooler that gives better cooling for air overclocking. Its taller than NH-D9L but the 5 nickel heatpipe based NH-U9S did a better job. One may have to ask if the placement helped in providing better CPU cooling. But hey, that’s Noctua for you. I find it strange that others don’t provide a case badge. This CPU cooler does carry about 18$ premium overCoolermaster Hyper D92, but keeping quality and ease of installation in mind, Noctua NH-U9S get a pat on the back.

From NikkTech:

After we wrapped up all our tests it was quite clear that we should had tested the NH-U9S with our Intel Core i5 3770k test rig but since we didn’t have access to it at this time we had to go with our primary Intel Core i7 3930k test rig. However the fact that the NH-U9S managed to keep our system running even at heavy load is really very important and shows just what this very small CPU Cooler is capable of. Of course, even the much cheaper Raijintek managed to keep our system running but the NH-U9S performed better.

From Modders Inc.:

The NH-U9S is a perfect example of this, but this did not come as too much of a surprise considering how largely improved the NH-U12S and NH-U14S’ performances were compared to their previous generation counterpart. The NH-U9S takes the 92mm level of thermal performance beyond even further than the NH-U9B SE2 despite being bundled with only a single fan.
