From TechPowerUp!:

The GTX 950 is basically a cheaper GTX 960 with proportionally less performance but the same feature set. NVIDIA’s MSRP is $160, and ZOTAC is asking another $15 for their AMP! Edition, a reasonable increase if you consider the metal cooler and large overclock. The boost in performance actually bumps the card’s performance-per-dollar score up and above that of the GTX 950 reference design. Still, the price is dangerously close to the GTX 960 that can be had for $190 and offers better performance.

From Hardware BBQ:

Which is why it’s very frustrating to make heads or tails in regards to recommendations, and the performance similarities between GTX 950 and GTX 960 doesn’t help at all. It also doesn’t help Nvidia either when Intel is eyeing on MOBA players as well, using its newer CPU with onboard graphics offerings. If Intel gets really serious and pushes onboard graphics to be well suited for competitive gaming (or pro gaming or e-sports), then the entry level graphic card will end up becoming as pointless as the low-profile graphic cards except with the purpose of being a replacement or an upgrade for a pretty old setup.
