AMD falls down to #4 in Microprocessor sales due to worldwide slowdown of PC sales

AMD has fallen from #2 to #4 due to a slowdown of PC sales and strong growth for consumption of smartphones and tablets. AMD has also been #2 in supplies of processors just behind Intel since the 90s, but AMD lost its streak due to strong demand for smartphones and tablets in various price range and innumerable manufacturing companies in many tier levels.

But in the list of multiprocessor suppliers, only Intel and AMD supply x86 processors for desktop PCs and Servers, whereas the rest have licensing from ARM to make processors for their mobile devices.
