AMD has always been serious about their APU concept, most likely so serious that FX Series Processors will still be continuing with 2nd generation ‘Vishera’ chips.
According to AMD 2013-2014 Desktop Roadmap, the second gen FX series ‘Vishera’ lineup will still continue throughout 2014. Most likely AMD would be bringing in newer clock speed, but that’s about it. Looking at AMD’s plans for mainstream, essential and small form factor lineups, it looks like AMD will not be offering anything significant for more-than-mainstream class desktop systems.
As pointed out before, AMD will be Kaveri APU to replace the currently available Richland APUs. The newer gen APU will be using Steamroller CPU cores and will be the first to have GCN. The upcoming APU will also be having HSA and TrueAudio.
