Asus India launches Transformer AIO P1801 with Detachable 18.4″ IPS panel with Windows 8 and Android Jelly Bean OS

Asus recently launched their All-in-One Transformer P1801 desktop units with a detachable 18.4″ IPS touch panel with the price tag starting from Rs. 86,999/- MRP. The transformer AIO allows to switch between Windows 8 and Android 4.1

The units use 2 processors: 3rd gen Intel Core desktop processor for Windows 8 and Nvidia Tegra 3 for Android 4.1. The core i3 version is priced for Rs. 86,999/- and for Core i5 model costs Rs. 92,999/- with 3 year warranty period.

It also should be noted that Nvidia GT 730M graphics, 802.11 a/b/g/n dual band Wi-Fi, USB 3.0 is provided. The portable large screen/”tablet” has a 28W Li-on battery where Asus states it can provide up to 5 hours of battery life. The desktop processor is on the Dock Station (as Asus calls it ‘PC Station’) and uses a wireless connection with the tablet to display the windows OS. Nvidia Tegra 3 is embedded on the tablet. You can switch between both the operating systems with the help of a button from the sits. The 18.4 IPS panel provides 1080p screen resolution. To be honest, I was expecting 4th generation Haswell processor lineups.

Memory and Storage wise, you can dock up to 4GB DDR3 1600MHz memory and 1TB hard drive on the PC station, whereas the tablet has 2GB DDR3 1600MHz memory with 32GB onboard storage. Do note that the unit does have a memory slot for additional storage.
