GPU makers to release AMD Radeon R9 290X with 8GB VRAM

Few graphic card brands will be releasing its variant of the AMD Radeon R9 290X with 8GB GDDR5 VRAM. Initially, it was speculated that three AiB partners-Club3D, Sapphire and PowerColor- will be the only ones to release this variant. But the boxshot of MSI’s card showed otherwise.

That said, I seriously doubt there are games that will benefit from this memory boost on the GPU. But those with 4K displays and want to play games with extreme FSAA might benefit from this. In any case, the 8GB variant should be available in the worldwide market by 6th November, 2014. The GPU makers for Nvidia also plans to release GTX 970 and GTX 980 variants with 8GB memory within the end of this year, although for now it’s a speculation.
