Intel decided to speed up the release plans for its next-generation Haswell-E HEDT processors by several weeks, according to the new reports. It is now being told that Intel is ready to introduce the Core i7 5800/5900 series in August.
According to the source, the Haswell-E would be out on 29th August 2014. Earlier, the launch date was set for September. It is not known what is the reason that Intel decided to speed up the launch.
The models that will come out are the Core i7-5960X, Core i7-5930K, Core i7-5820K and Core i7-5960X. These will be the first desktop processors from Intel with either core with hyper-threading technology available.
Is making a move to get some sort of an advantage in sales? Unlikely. Intel doesn’t face any competition for its HEDT processor lineup in the market, so it makes barely any impact on its competitors. Enthusiasts who seek high-end performance components (provided the performance is worth the price) are the usual customers for these processors, and other than them- there’s a very little demand for such processors and compatible motherboards.
