Nvidia finally re-opens GeForce Community Forums

For those who do not know, Nvidia had to shut down their community forum after a third party got a hold of usernames, e-mail addresses, hashed passwords, and user’s”About Me” profile that was reported back in July 13th.

Back then, Nvidia clearly stated that they do not save passwords in text format, and they re-open the forums after implementing better security

But now, GeForce community forums are up- and according to Nvidia, its better than before:

I appreciate your patience as we worked to build what we hope you’ll find to be a much improved forum experience. We’re sorry for any frustration that our downtime caused, but we hope you’ll like the new forums and we look forward to hearing what you think.

If you used our forums in the past, the first thing you’ll probably notice is their new appearance. We’ve redesigned and re-hosted them to fit with the overall GeForce.com experience, completing a vision that started more than 3 years ago with the merger of the nZone and SLI Zone forums.

Our new, streamlined forum-structure provides the best of both worlds: freedom for community conversation about GPU technology, games and other topics, and a separate product-oriented section that simplifies finding support information and enables our Customer Care team to collect and use your feedback to improve our products and drivers.

Oh, and we’ve herded those pesky CUDA developers away to their completely own site. Now, we don’t have to worry about their table manners at the “big kids” table. 😉

Over the next several months we’ll be improving and adding features to our forums to enhance their usefulness and promote a stronger feeling of community.
