It seems that Gigabyte made a slip up (thankful for us) to confirm that Nvidia will be launching its GeForce GTX 880 in September, something that’s kept quiet until now.
The news was first leaked in EXPReview when they published an interview (now removed) with a Gigabyte representative. It is confirmed that the company would be launching its G1.Gamer variant of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 880 desktop graphic card by September. As one would imagine, if Gigabyte’s representative is sure enough to talk about the launch date, its obvious other AiB partners will launch their variant of the GTX 880 as well.
In the interview, the representative pointed out that its non-reference version will have a larger than standard-size GPU cooler which is capable to help to dissipate 650W of heat once it reaches high temperature as the fans are temperature-controlled. Any other specifications were not revealed, but it will be based on Maxwell architecture.
