Nvidia GTX 780 to cost a lot more than $500

It is being reported that Nvidia GTX 780, one of the cards under their upcoming GTX 700 desktop graphics lineup which is said to launch by the end this month will be based on GK110 chip.

What’s also being said that the card will be a lot more expensive than $500. The report also points out that Nvidia would be selling GTX780’s actual GK110 core itself to its vendors, therefore graphics card manufacturers will have the freedom to design their graphics card’s PCB layout and other specification from scratch.

There are 3 cards being named. GTX 760Ti is rumoured to use GK104-225 core with 1,344 CUDA cores, 112 TMUs, 32 ROPs 2GB GDDR5 and 256-bit interface. GTX 770 also uses GK104-225 core but with 1536 Cuda cores, 128 TMUs and 4GB GDDR5 memory. Rest is as same as GTX760Ti’s specs.

The GTX 780 will be using GK110 core with 2496 CUDA cores, 208 TMUs, 40 ROPs, 5GB GDDR5 memory with a 320-bit interface. Earlier, it was pointed out that Nvidia may not be using their ‘Titan’ branding for these cards, and will be using the 700 series branding instead.
