There’s news developing that Nvidia will be introducing GTX 980Ti using GM200 Core that is also used in Titan X.
It is said that the Nvidia GeForce GTX 980Ti card will be releasing in few months, at the time time frame as AMD R9 390X GPU launch. With the same GM200 core as in GTX Titan X, it will be interesting to see how both of these graphic cards perform. The timeframe and certain details, however, are not yet confirmed. However, unlike the GTX Titan X, the GTX 980Ti will be a non-reference versions made by its respective AIB partners.
According to the reports, the upcoming GTX 980Ti GPU will be having the core clocked probably at 1100 MHz base clock, 3072 stream processors, 192 texture mapping units, 96 raster pipelines via 384-bit memory bus. In comparison with the newly-released Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan X, it will have a lesser VRAM down to 6GB. There is also a possibility that some execution units might have been reduced or have disabled the non-functional execution units.
Since its a bit lower spec than Titan X, it should be at a lower cost.
