Nvidia is finally going to start the pre-order of Tegra 4 powered handheld gaming console ‘Shield’ on May 20th and will be shipped to the buyers by June.
The specification of the console is the same as what was specified in CES 2013 and will be having a 5″ 720p display with Android 4.2. One of the key selling points is that you stream your PC games to the handheld console and use full-fledged joysticks, triggers and D-Pads just like consoles’ game controllers.
It will be using 2GB LPDDR3 memory with 2x 2:2 802.11 a/b/g/n/ WiFi+ Bluetooth 3.0, followed by GPS support, 16GB storage NAND and MicroSD slot, Micro USB 2.0, Mini HDMI, 3.5mm headphone jack. Nvidia’s Tegra 4 is clocked at 1.9GHz.
The pre-orders will be starting on May 20th, via Newegg, GameStop, Micro Center and Canada Computers, and aimed for late June to send the purchased handheld console to its users.
