Oculus VR gets a $16 Million from Spark Capital and Matrix Partners, along with additional funding from Founders Fund and Formation 8. The funding will help to accelerate the development of the virtual reality headset- specifically for hardware, software and services.
Earlier, Oculus Rift VR headset got a successful crowd fundraising of $2.4 Million via Kickstarter, which enabled them to have development kits for game designers. Though the headset is not released for retail, the massive funding from few funding and investment companies will accelerate the process to do so.
Palmer Luckey said,”Oculus began with a single mission: to put players inside the game. This investment allows us to deliver immersive and affordable virtual reality to players everywhere.”
