Intel just revealed information about its upcoming LGA1150 socket based Devil’s Canyon processor and its 20th anniversary unlock Pentium processor.
As of now, there are three processors based on the Devil’s Canyon:
- Intel Pentium G3258 base clock of 3.2GHz
- Intel i5 4690K base clock of 3.5GHz
- Intel i7 4790K base clock of 4.0GHz
The Intel Pentium G3258 is the 20th anniversary Pentium processor which will feature unlocked cores. Its a dual core processor with 3MB Cache and support dual-channel DDR3 up to 133MHz frequency. The TDP of this processor is 53W and uses socket 1150. The MSRP is $72.
The core i5 4690K has a base clock of 3.5GHz with Turbo bumping it to up to 3.9 GHz. Its a quad core processor with Intel HD 4600 graphics clocked at 1200MHz. The MSRP is $242, which is the same as with i5 4670K Haswell processor. The i7 4790K has a base clock of 4 GHz with Turbo of up to 4.4 GHz with four cores and eight threads. It has 8MB Cache with the same Intel HD 4600 GPU but with an extra 50MHz bump. The MSRP for this processor $339.
Both of these processors support dual channel 1600MHz and sits on LGA1150 socket, with TDP of up to 88w. Its still not clear if Intel would stop manufacturing Intel 4670K and 4770K, but earlier it was pointed out that Intel Z87 chipset motherboards will have no issues working with Devil’s Canyon provided the BIOS is updated.
